THE EVENT
Frank Isola Rotary Field Day is a free track and field competition open to all Orinda 3rd through 5th graders. Students will compete for first, second and third place in individual events, as well as the title of High Point Boy and High Point Girl. The school with the highest combined point total will keep the Field Day trophy for a full year.
At 68 years strong, Rotary Field Day is part of the fabric of Orinda life. Parents and grandparents come to watch their children and grandchildren run the same races they did as children.
This year, for the first time, the Rotary Club of Orinda will be joined by Miramonte Track & Field Team as a co-sponsor of the event, which will be held at the Miramonte Track & Field inside Miramonte stadium. Third through fifth graders from all the Orinda schools will get their first experience of what it is like to be a high school athlete, competing in events run by Orinda Rotarians and members of the Miramonte Track & Field team.
Rotarians will also be on hand selling donuts, coffee, snacks, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks to help defray the costs of the event.
Date: Saturday, May 5, 2018
Time: 8:00 a.m. for registration. First races begin at 8:30 a.m.
Location: Miramonte Stadium, Miramonte High School
